Blurred Lines Empty
PostSubject: Blurred Lines   Blurred Lines EmptyThu Jul 23, 2015 7:23 pm

This would be the first meal that Terrance would have here, and he wasn't quite sure what to expect. He was bustled along like the others into lines and followed what they did with an observing eye. When they were to scrape off a portion of their food into the fire, he wanted to know how that work yet didn't care at the same time. He just muttered "For whomever," and sat back at the crowded Hermes table. Not really hungry, he watched the interactions of his table mates curiously. All day he'd heard rumors and whispers of rumors and wanted some of them answered yet not knowing at the moment how to broach such a conversation with any of them. So he sat silently and poked at his food with a frown on his face.

When he'd learned about the whole 'claiming' business, he hadn't been sure what to feel or think other than he didn't care. What business was it of his if he was really the offspring of a god and a human? Having already come to an acceptance about being adopted, learning that he was a by blow of a divine being who probably only wanted to itch a scratch, wasn't really all that hard to swallow. Why would he want to know which one it was? The sooner he could learn how to protect himself without halfway dying would mean the sooner he could leave this place.

Just to see what would happen he asked no one in particular, "So what happens then if you're claimed and you reject the claiming?"

Even though Jupe had only been here a month she already had the lunch ritual thing down. First she got the food, than offered it too which ever god or goddess popped into her head. " For Athena." She said as she scraped a portion of her food off the plate to offer. She walked over to the Hermes table with all the other unclaimed and she sat down at the end of the table.

Jupe ate and drank as she heard all the other students chatting about, she really didn't have friends and was not very good at making them either. She knew that a lot of the people here were claimed by their godly parent, whereas at the Hermes table you weren't sure which were claimed and which weren't, you'd have to ask them. She sipped her drink as she heard what a boy said and she turned to look at him.

" I don't know. If you reject the claim I guess they just shrug, maybe ask why, than move on." Jupe said honestly as she shrugged, she sipped her drink again.

Turning to give the girl who answered him a disbelieving look, he didn't answer right away. For some reason the gods just deciding to 'shrug, ask why, and move on,' didn't seem very plausible to him. From his experience, once you got on a god's list you stayed there. When he was younger he knew nothing of this and it wasn't until they'd gotten a monster and demigod to talk did he and Thanos find out certain things. And meeting the camp director again... No, it didn't seem as if what the girl was saying was true. Maybe she didn't know the true nature of gods?

The more he poked at his food and mixed it up on his plate it looked unappetizing. It was a good thing that he wasn't really hungry anyway. Pushing the plate away he commented, "I guess you are rather new here too from your answer? Have you heard of anyone doing that? Rejecting their claim?"

That was what he was interested in. Would Terrance be able to do that if he was claimed without inciting wrath to fall upon him? Having a reading problem coupled with a disinterest in a subject had made it rather hard to learn about Greek mythology. What should he have cared about made up make believe things until they had been trying to kill him? While he still didn't care about the mythology he knew he had to learn to sort out fact from fiction.

Jupe smirked a bit at the boys reaction, it was quite amusing to her. She seriously did not believe the gods would do that, but hey, anything is possible right? She bit her bottom lip to keep the laughter in. She ate a bit more of her food. " You do know I was just pulling your leg right?" She asked him with a quirked eye brow. " I have a dry sense of humor." She added with another shrug as she ate another piece of her food.

Jupe noticed he was just picking and moving the food on his plate and wasn't actually eating it. " Your food won't bite you y'know?" She teased with a kind smile on her face. " I'm Jupiter by the way." She added with an extended hand, when he asked if she was new she nodded. " I've been here about a month. So yeah still pretty new, as for a demi-god rejecting their claim, no, I have never heard of that. But I believe you'd be given a choice whether or not you want your godly parent to claim you or not." She said as she sipped her drink. " But than again, that just might be my personal opinion." She added.

Jupe did wonder who her godly parent was, she tried reading up on the personality traits of them but she couldn't quite find any that had the same personality as her, well, more like traits instead of personality. She had similar traits to quite a few of them, so she wasn't completely sure and just decided she would let fate or whatever tell her. " So you're a newbie too I'm assuming?" She asked.
