Colton Bex Evans was born to Ashton and Mary-Anne Evans, a blossoming new power couple in New York City. His mother went through medical school at an earlier age as his father did with law school. Being highly intelligent and proficient in their jobs set the family up for wealth. His parents were busy as they fell into a pattern of focusing on their careers rather than Colton. Even at a toddler age being raised by whichever nanny or babysitter his parents decided to hire. As Colton aged the more this affected him, he didn’t like to socialize with others even as a kid. He would often, even at a young age find friends in books, reading any time he got the chance. As he turned sixteen is when his rebellious attitude kicked in with his parents. They no longer had a nanny or caretaker to look after him. Colton developed the habit of just having his list of demands and his parents of course swiped the cards, handed over the cash.

Being that his parents were always gone, he would throw parties even though he went through school being known as the quiet, smart, rich kid. That was enough for people, and that gave Colton a reason to spend his parents’ fortune. They had a mansion or close enough to one, it had windows all around the exterior of the house. Of course knowing his father decided to at least get it bullet proof glass. And although to most people it would be odd it didn’t bother the family at all. Not that it really minded what his parents thought, they were hardly at the home. Colton although being the quiet rich kid did pick up something at least. All the years of having his nose in a book paid off. He had a natural knack for science, just like his mother did. Naturally picking up both of his parents’ intelligence as well. Shortly before turning nineteen his father took on a case where he was defending a major crime boss and everyone knew he was guilty. The proof was evident but being a talented lawyer dissuaded the juries and blamed it on one of his underlings.

This changed his father’s career majorly, people thought he was aligned with the crime boss so his credibility went to shatters. It turned into his only line of clients, and although he was still paid well it gave him more time to be at home. His father wanted his wife home more since they never had time together. But his mother refused stating being a nurse was much more important than staying home just to be with him. It made his father turn bitter and harsh like the people he associated with. Over the next year he began abusing both Colton and his mother, verbally mostly but he still had his moments. Colton came in one day from the garden they had on the exterior of the house and it happened to be his favorite reading spot. His father began questioning why a boy his age would even be interested in books as much as he was. He grabbed the book out of his hand and threw it in the fireplace.

Colton became so angry he snapped at his father this caused his father to shove him against a wall and that instant was enough for his mutant powers to activate. His father grabbed him by his chin and instantly Colton became flooded with his father’s life energy. Memories, knowledge, he had no power of his own so it was the only thing Colton could take. His father fell to the floor unconscious and his mother came home at that instant. Seeing that Colton had done something to his father.

As his father was rushed to the hospital they discovered that he was now put into a coma and they couldn’t fully explain what was the cause. But even his mother, now being frightened of Colton decided that it would be best if they paid for his own studio apartment and live by himself. Saying that was the only way she could ever make up for the lifestyle he had. It took Colton a few years to realize that reaction would happen any time he touched someone. He accidentally bumped into a mutant in the subway stealing a brief taste of their power, teleportation causing him to teleport himself home shocking the subway certainly. The mutant flashed into his house wanting to confront Colton on what just happened. Telling Colton that was his power and what he had just done. Colton then realized it wasn’t just life energy and stuff like that he could absorb but other mutants powers. After turning twenty-one is when he drew the attention of the Brotherhood, even Magneto had heard there was another Power Absorber in the midst and wanted to have someone on his side again. Little did Colton know that since being on his own Mystique had been keeping her eyes on him and reporting back to Magneto.

As the X-men were always getting new ranks Magneto wanted a few more high powered mutants and asked Colton for his loyalty. Playing off his ego claiming he was godlike, that he had the power to do whatever he wanted. Just like Magneto’s ideals, strong mutants with certain powers should be praised to say the least. This was enough to convince Colton, he filled one out of two empty positions Magneto was looking for. Claiming he would find another directly. Colton has been spending the most recent two weeks with the Brotherhood. Becoming a good team with most of the squad, He preferred Mystique and Sabretooth much more than Toad finding the hopping mutant rather annoying. Magneto has just informed them he had found the other mutant to fill the Brotherhood.
