Personality: Vanessa can be described as a closed off and slightly sadistic female. She has a tendency to speak before she thinks and has such sticky fingers that her bedside table is filled with knick-knacks from the countless of people that she has met and subsequently pick-pocketed. She has a tendency to go off in her own world if something doesn't interest her. Whenever she's annoyed, Vanessa tends to go off and work out some steam at the training fields by either training with her fellow campers or just hitting a still mannequin.

General History: Vanessa has no happy memories of her childhood or even of her mother. As a young child, Vanessa had no idea what was happening around her, why she could see all these monsters from nightmares that others couldn't see. She couldn't understand why all these dangerous accidents had been happening around her. She couldn't understand why her own mother wouldn't even touch her or just tuck her into bed at night. Eventually, the monster's that were after Vanessa finally managed to kill someone, her mother. Not able to take the horrifying scene, Vanessa ran away, not caring where she was going.

She ran for days, her small legs taking her as far away from the scene of tragedy as they could carry her. In the end, she ended up living her life on the streets, stealing money, food and clothes from people. Fighting to save herself and other kids just like her, scared and with nowhere to go. She didn't stay the innocent girl that she had been and she grew into a fierce woman who wasn't afraid to stand up for herself against people bigger and better than her.

She didn't know what she was or even if what she was seeing was real but she grew to be wary of people approaching her, she grew weary of adults trying to coax her into going with them. She trusted no adult and it has saved her life more than she could count.

Your Journey: Vanessa's journey to Camp Half-Blood hadn't been planned, at all. In fact, it was a mere accident that the young girl, a twelve-year-old at the time, had stumbled upon the camp. She had been on the run, once more, from the monsters that were chasing her, killing anything in their way to get to her. She had been starving, dirty and dehydrated but she kept going, her legs keeping her moving, a voice in her head telling her to keep running south, to never stop.

So she did, she kept running, only resting for a scant few minutes before taking off again, fearful for her own life at the hands of the monsters than of dying from starvation and dehydration. She ran for days on end, ducking into houses that she picked locks from to steal a slice of bread and a quick drink of water before she took off again. The voice in her head had quieted to an almost unaidable murmur when she came upon a large tree, a beautiful tree that seemed to sing as she swept past it and only then did the voice stopped and Vanessa was faced with the big, blaring sign of Camp Half-Blood.

Vanessa sniggered softly as she quietly sneaked into the Ares' cabin, her steps soft and eerily quiet as the young girl made her way towards an unassuming bedside drawer. Frowning when she noticed the lock on it, the girl huffed as she pulled off two hair slides and using them both, she slid them into the lock and slowly, making sure to keep an eye on anyone that would come in, she fiddled around the lock, letting a triumpth smirk appear on her face as the lock clicked open. Putting the hair slides back into her hair, she pulled open the drawer and rummaged around the drawer, her hands pulling out a handful of coins and a small, unassuming looking planner.

Grinning to herself, the girl closed the drawer and left just as quickly as she came in, her steps sure and firm as she made her way back to the bonfire she had just slipped out from, her hand easily slipping the black looking planner into the pocket of one of the older demi-gods, a smile on her face as she made her way towards the younger demi-gods who seemed to be involved in some type of card play. Sitting down next to them, Vanessa joined in with a smile on her lips, ignoring the shriek from a young female who started beating on the guy that she had slipped the planner to.

It was only around half an hour later, after she won another hand at poker, slipping the few coins into her pocket, when she was startled by an arm around her shoulder, her head tilting towards the person who was in her personal space and seemed to be looking above her head and not at her.

Tilting her head back, she blinked her eyes at the Caduceus mark, announcing her to be the daughter of Hermes.

"Hello sister." The teenager grinned at her and she smiled back lightly, wondering what made Hermes claim her.
